The case features four panels covered in guilloche design and French style appliqué and opaque royal blue enamel lid and accents; the opening lid features a hand painted landscape miniature. The underside of the lid displays a hand painted floral bouquet miniature. Two birds feature real iridescent, bright hummingbird feathers. When activated, the lid opens and the birds rise from their nest, singing in alternating sequence at first and then together. They flap both wings, open and close beaks, bobbing tailfeather and turning whole body from side-to-side.
